Ski Rusutsu

Ski Rusutsu, a ski resort in Japan, approached me to create a travel poster inspired by the Golden Age of travel. Following the success of the initial design, I was commissioned to produce two additional posters, creating a series that celebrated the resort while maintaining a consistent vintage aesthetic.
For the initial poster, the brief was to incorporate a number of the resort’s landmarks and recognisable elements. The Golden Age of Travel posters served as the primary inspiration, but I wanted to retain subtle hints of modernism throughout the design. To achieve this, I kept the shading and shape complexity to a minimum, allowing the bold forms and colour palette to take focus. Following the success of the first poster, I was given a more open brief to create two additional designs. One featured a predominantly green colour palette and the other a blue palette, while maintaining a cohesive visual style across the series.
